"APU = diversity. But are we really making the most of it?"

Hello everyone, this is Mochi, the representative of LINK-UP Cafe!

First off, I would like to write about my thoughts on this project.

After joining APU, I have made many foreign friends and my English has gradually improved, but I felt that there were more things I could do in this environment that only APU offers.

When students from different countries with completely different values come together, there is a lot of fun to be had, but of course there are also problems that can arise, and there are topics that we try to avoid in order to maintain good relationships with our friends. Prime examples of this are historical and religious topics.

However, I think that it is only when you are a student that you can talk about such slightly sensitive topics without being too caught up in your position or the group you belong to. It's only when you know your friends well that you can talk about things like, "I think this way, but what about you?"

Here at LINK-UP Cafe, we will post articles from various countries and cultures on topics that we tend to avoid talking about directly, such as recent hot topics and trivial things that bother us in our daily lives. I hope you will feel free to read them as if you were chatting with a friend at a cafe, and I hope you will share your impressions and your thoughts with your friends!

The next article will be the first in a series of posts on the theme of "Standards of Beauty". Look forward to it!
