What is LINK-UP Cafe?

What does LINK-UP mean?

Our goals

LINK-UP Cafe is a project started by APU Students for APU Students, as well as other university students around Japan. We visit various topics and analyze them with a multicultural perspective; voices from various cultures and groups are heard. To do that, we aim to create an open space where discussions on international issues and sensitive topics can take place.

The word "LINK-UP" means "to connect. It expresses our desire to create a place where people can not only learn new things and broaden their horizons, but also connect with a world they did not know existed and interact with a variety of people as a result.

The four letters of the word "LINK" have the following meanings in order to create a place where people can learn and stimulate each other.

  • Learn

  • Interact

  • Navigate

  • Kindle

・To bridge boundaries and deconstruct preconceptions about things that may seem second-nature or normal to you.

・To be a safe forum for discussion, where cultural boundaries can cross and International dialogues can take place.
